Yet
It will come
Soon we hope
Things we desire
To help us cope
How far away
Or how much time to take
For us to arrive
For our goal to bake
We will be able to see
On this we can bet
It will be great
We ain't seen nuthin yet
Rabid Poet
Rantings of a Rabid Poet. Addressing issues facing humanity and all life forms. Moving toward sustainability and preservation and maybe even using technology to achieve simpler living styles.
Yet
It will come
Soon we hope
Things we desire
To help us cope
How far away
Or how much time to take
For us to arrive
For our goal to bake
We will be able to see
On this we can bet
It will be great
We ain't seen nuthin yet
Rabid Poet
Singing Reality
When what we know
Is no longer our show
We grasp for memories
To fill in The When
But it continues rushing to The Then
We remain in the pretend
And give it a name The Trend
We search for a must To Be
A future we can see
Is it A Song
As we meander along
Close to a To Be
As we sing reality
Rabid Poet
Put It Off
I need to do it
To get me through it
I hear their pleas
Down on their knees
But my inner self says screw it
I'll do it right away
Before the end of day
No putting it off
Was that a cough?
Maybe I will just play
My reputation is at stake
Their trust I can't break
It is something I must do
Before the day is through
Oh well, so I'm a Fake
Rabid Poet
Where we are Headed
Where we are headed
No one seems to know
The Planet hold it's secrets
Planning for it's own show
We keep on consuming
Like termites in a tree
We see no limits
The fall we can't see
When the tree falls
Still much to consume
Soon it will be gone
And we will face our doom
Rabid Poet
Placebo
Which way to go
A way that I know
Or maybe what
Is tied in a knot
Preparing my new show
If I take this pill
I avoid any new ill
So they say
Go your merry way
You won't stay still
It's not what you pray
It's more what they say
Should I take this pill
With a good life to fill
And be part of their play
Rabid Poet
Next Treat
In the yards
Grass not mowed
In the streets
Cars not towed
In the mailboxes
Mail overflow
Where is everyone?
Is that scream of a crow?
We should have known
This can't go on
Constantly on the go
Constantly on the phone
The Silence is weird
Power lines in the street
Rats scurrying everywhere
Looking for their next treat
Rabid Poet
Reality Speaks
We rush to the Future
Like we know what's there
More of this, better that
We really care
It's in our smartphones
Answers that we seek
To give a view
To give us a peek
But reality speaks
In language unknown
Very little we know
So get off the phone
The years will pass
So will people we know
And the answers we seek
Are in an unknown show
Rabid Poet
Insanity
Are we insane
Or is this just a game
Winners, losers
Those with fame
Are we machines
Human pretending to be
Or are we humans
Not understanding free
Perhaps insanity
Is just another word
For slowly disappearing
In our society herd
Lies defined as Truth
So we get our way
Now defined as Sanity
Another games to play
Rabid Poet
These streets
We walk alone
Seeking a way
For us to atone
For those vulnerable
We chose to ignore
Those without voices
Those not human as before
When daylight arrives
And we look around
Will we be alone
With only human sound
No tweets from the trees
No howls in the breeze
Again walking the darkened streets
Into an ominous freeze
Rabid Poet
Happy Virus
It's dancing in the air
Doing It's Fred Astaire
Moving from group to group
It doesn't care
Frat Party here
Church gathering there
Growing larger in numbers
Creating it's own Fair
It found It''s way
It has it's day
As people regroup
Back to their old way
So on It grows
In It's Merry Way
Dancing in the air
Growing day to day
Rabid Poet
The Show
When will it come?
The End as we know
As promised by Saints
As part of the Big Show
But what is coming?
Is it part of the End
Which could be the Beginning
Of Time that we bend
Oh well, so confusing
Where did we start?
Monkey wanting long eyelashes
As cavemen pulled a cart
It really doesn't matter
Things that we know
In the End
It's part of the Show
Rabid Poet
The Meetings
I met with the Tree
It said with a sadness
On your human journey
Please let us be
I met with a Polar Bear
It said with a sadness
We must have Icebergs
Don't you even care
I met with a Butterfly
It said with a sadness
We must have flowers
To reach from the Sky
I met with a Lion
It said with a sadness
Hold off your hunters
Or we will not move on
Realizing I'm not the only one
The meetings were ended
Sadness is expanding
Life disappearing under our Sun
Rabid Poet
Hugs
Eskimo pies
Are good for your eyes
But Polar Bear hugs
Are probably lies
Making your own truth
Will get you proof
What the bear did on the snow
Is now your big show
Rabid Poet
Persisting
Time and Space
Are abstractions
We made up
From coffee in our cup
To go from Here to There
Becomes an unseen stair
And time between
Simply goes unseen
There has never been a past
Only the Now rushing past
Matter changing form
Clouds forming a storm
Thoughts and memories form
And rush into the storm
We call daily existing
And some call persisting
Rabid poet
Time and Space
We are in a race
To understand Time and Space
Are we Here are There?
Our do we really care
To get to There from Here
We will need a Spare
One infinitely large
With an Alien in charge
Light years over there
To lifeforms that care
Would be a treasure
To bring us pleasure
But in this dream
There lies a scheme
On how we could go
On a trip infinitely slow
Simply turn ourselves around
We are back here we found
From a trip on infinity way
A trip easy to play
Rabid Poem
"We Should"
As a species
We went so far
On the backs of other species
On roads made of tar
To see us ending
No planet to have us
Our claims of progress
Leaving on the Finality bus
We see ourselves as great
Turning things to our good
When as the End approaches
Progress is turned to "we should"
Rabid Poet
Awareness
On we go
As if we know
Are we as one?
In this ongoing Show
Are we unique
Reaching our peak
Or a collective blend
Thinking individuality we seek
What of the Past?
They didn't last
And those yet to come
Their expressions yet to cast
Do we really care?
Is Life just a tear?
A ripple in Time?
A new suit to wear?
Rabid Poet
Give Thanks
I thank my Tongue for:
Dodging my teeth while chewing,
Helping to articulate my words
and....,...of course, Taste, mmmm, chocolate,
Oh, and swallowing nerds
And picking bits of food from around my gums
while manipulating saliva,
And probably more
including Tums
Rabid Poet
Immortality
We all must go
From this human show
Hard as we all try
To dodge the by and by
We look to Immortality
Exempt from reality
How could we see
That we cease to be
We need to accept
Our vision as inept
And go our merry way
To a world of day to day
Special as we seem to be
In the Evolution Tree
In the chain of life we play
A passing on to another day
