It will happen
But not today
When words are spoken
Of yesterday
Those times as one
We looked ahead
Our separate worlds
Not yet to dread
Still it will come
It's on the way
We drift to the stars
But not today
Our minds hold tight
Those words in our heart
As days slip past
This journey we chart
That feeling we know
Is heading our way
Of walking alone
But not today
Poem ... Back Through the Years
Looking back through the years
The laughter and the tears
The grandiose plans
The tiny little fears
It seems so simple now
Just speak the truth
And breathe fresh air
Avoid the aloof
But it was written
Each word we spoke
Seemed so serious
Played out as a joke
I look at blue sky
And bird in song
And know we're together
Moving right along
Those years are gone
In memory still
To guide our journey
Our joy to fulfill

Dancing to the $
Where to go
What to do
When they say
Old soft shoe
Buy this
Use that
You look good
In new hat
Can't see beyond
Driving new car
With that new money
We go far
Printing, printing
Money press
It is our God
That we must bless
Crow flying
Into the mist
Chanting these words
You will not be missed
Whale singing
Into the blue
Not much longer
Your days are through
Wolf howling
A wolfish song
Your dominance on Earth
Won't be here long
Did they love us
Those we possessed
Not very likely
The way we transgressed
So they will be
Singing their song
Words getting louder
Humans no longer belong
