Poem....Remembrances

I tied a rope around yesterday
To hold back these speeding days
To delay that time ahead
When our hands no longer touch
When that smile no longer lights the day
I pull with all my might to avoid that silence
That steely silence sure to come
When walks are remembrances
And long shadows settle in

Evolution

And Life said
I want to be
And formed a Speck
Within the Sea

And then Life said
I'm not through
And split It's self
And then made two

And then Life said
I still need more
And split again
And then made four

And then Life said
I need to feel
And formed some cells
To know what's real

And then Life said
I need more than me
To become much more
Than just one can see

And then Life said
I must be free
And developed wings
To soar the sea

And then Life said
I must walk the land
And reach out
To Another's hand

And then Life said
Looking at a star
We must move on
To a journey far

Step Above

A Goal to achieve
A Dream to believe
Emerging from the shadow
A path is displayed
Do I head that way?
Or soar to heights above
To view those obsticles
Not there by purpose
Nor there by design
But for lessons to learn
And joys of discovery felt
Moving to that Step Above

Painting Gray

I walk on purple pastures
And float in deep blue skies
And lite on green leaves
With yellow butterflies

And when the evening comes
That reaches end of day
I choose the feather of a dove
To paint the blue sky gray

A time will come
When future time
Is of little meaning
And the past comes flooding in
Filling those spaces of doubt and fear
Releasing predictions of consequence
But until that time comes
The sky is painted with clouds
Waves slide over white sandy shores
And you are here by my side
Writing those songs of love

Talked to a Leaf

Leaf floated past
Colour of Rust Red
Why leave your tree?
A question I said
I did my part bathing in Sun
Making air that you know
And now must move on
For a beautiful Fall show.
But aren't you sad
That your colour will fade?
It is a Journey to be loved
A performance to be made
Now I must move on
And you continue your walk
As we colour the ground
Thanks for the talk
But I must finish my flight
Before coming snows
Turn your walk white
And nip at your nose

There are days of bright blues
And there are days of darkened grays
Of streaks of white playing among trees
Of mottled Seagulls over rough seas
But whatever this day brings
And surely it will be
The beauty of it all
Is there for us to see.

Purple Canoe

I rowed those swift currents
In my purple canoe
Rowed so hard
My arms turned blue

I found myself high in the clouds
My rowing not yet through
You can't get to Heaven sayth a voice
While rowing a purple canoe.

Saw a cloud
Looked like a bear
Where are you going
Clouds reply,why do you care
In the next few moments
I'll look like a pig
Or maybe even a tree
What ever I look like
Is not up to thee
So move right along
With your creative flight

The story is told

Twisting and twirling

To form this beautiful Planet
We call Mother Earth

I built a Ladder
To climb high in the sky
To watch tops of clouds
Slowly passing by

Climb higher said a voice
Out of the Blue
You've much more to see
Before you are through

But I can't climb much higher
Will run out of air
And all those below me
Will stand there and stare

Keep climbing it said
And look at the moon
Your secret desire
Will look at you soon

I am so high now
My hands hold on tight
The Sun and the Moon
Now fading from sight

Keep climbing it said
The voice from above
Those stars up ahead
We're put there by Love

On higher I climb
Stars left and right
And in front of me now
Nothing but light

I step off my ladder
Into a World of white mist
Will I ever go back
Will I ever be missed

The voice became clear
Never to be stilled
Go back down
You've more ladders to build

Confusing meanings of words I write
Colours blending and intersecting
Confusing meanings of colours I see
Sounds of groaning and distant thunder
Cupping my ears for danger's closeness
I sit here near pen and inkwell anticipating

In script of meaningful dark terrors
And readers to be infected with words
That are disguised for their undoings
Should I give warnings of this poem's intent
Or let Insanity begin it's slow descent

A magic potion

Encantation is a must

Which alerts evil spirits
