Poem.....Consistency
Consistency
I lothe thee
Prim and proper
Always on time
Controlling our lives
Unspoken demands
I won't be there
Reschedule
Or cancel
It doesn't matter
Am I red
Or will I be purple
Rantings of a Rabid Poet. Addressing issues facing humanity and all life forms. Moving toward sustainability and preservation and maybe even using technology to achieve simpler living styles.
Poem.....Consistency
Consistency
I lothe thee
Prim and proper
Always on time
Controlling our lives
Unspoken demands
I won't be there
Reschedule
Or cancel
It doesn't matter
Am I red
Or will I be purple
Poem....Anticipating change
I know not why
I travel this path
Flowers of dark purple and red
Vines kissing a flowing creek
We are one
Me and the unknown
Not knowing the next minute
Anticipating change
Poem.....Wave of Life
We are a wave of Life
Just passing through
Some with many years
Other only a few
Do we pass on what we know
The lessons we learned
Or is our time only a show
The wave continues on
With those who heed
With those that care
For those in need
Our destiny is naught written in a star
It is written in our passion
To push our wisdom far
Poem.....Haven't a clue
I sit on the beach watching the gulls
Why?
I get up and drive to the nearest city
Why?
I start a corporation and make lots of money
Why?
I run for mayor's office and win
Why?
I divorce and marry a wealthy widow
Why?
I now again sit on the beach watching the gulls
Why?
Haven't a clue
Poem...Better left alone
If I say it, will it hurt
Those words meant to help
Once released from my lips
Forever resonating in misunderstanding
That look of hurt in those eyes
Those eyes that are part of my soul
Does it really matter
That correction I intend
Maybe it should be a collage
A remainder in that beautiful personality
Better left alone for Eternity
Poem......Cup of Java
Sat my coffee cup on the table
A worm hole opened and swallowed it
I reached in to save it
The room swirled
Colors streaked past my view
Stars passed by with increasing speed
A swirling galaxy ahead
With a thump I landed on a purple rock
Red plains stretched ahead
Several large moons on the horizon
I glanced over and there my coffee cup sat
Not a drop was spilled
Picked it up and took a sip
Worth it to save a cup of java
Poem....Colour Chaos
Purple merging Red
Edges not neat
Why should we care
It is in chaos
The irregular intersecting
That beauty emerges
A background of Black
Inviting a splash of Gray
To drip down across those edges
Those colour intersections
Those insights into Life
Poem....Boil and Bubble
I look into the depths of humanity's soul
I stir the clouds of hope and discontent
Hope shines like distant stars
Revolving in a galaxy unknown
A journey we hope to make
Before the lights grow dim
And we can no longer see our way
I say the words of boil and bubble
A witch waiting to bring on trouble
But alas we know not that witch
Nor among us who she may be
Poem....Coloured Consequences
Consequences painted red
Unintended so they said
Why not painted blue
Question in my head
Not for you to question
Only for us to say
Red is our decision
Now go on your way
Well my choice is now purple
Don't care what you say
I own these consequences
Try red another day
Poem....Bright Penny
I look down
Bright Penny shining
Should I walk on
Leaving this find for others
Perhaps one searchiing for joy
This shiny heads-up could give
I look back as I walk on
That shiny spot shrinking from view
It bridges a sidewalk crack
It's intent now meant for others
Poem.....A gift from the gods
Clouds roll in
Silver-Gray streaks emerge
White flashes punctuate
White ice marbles roll about
The gods are angry
And fling their jagged bolts
Or perhaps an angry orchestra leader
Demanding more base strings
Faces turn purple
Hands turn red
The music peaks
Then a heavenly silence
The soft patter of rain
A gift from the gods
Poem.....Colour Abstraction
Purple swirls
Red curls
Black fills inbetween
Grays move in and out
One side gray
The other side green
Splashes of sienna
Starting their drip
I put down my paintbrush
Give my coffee a sip
Poem.....Reaching out
Is it now
Or some time past
Or some future time
That image
That feel
Of you by my side
No words spoken
No anticipation
No regret
No interpretation
Only us two
Taking in the stars
Poem.... Complexities
Beyond the edge
Hidden behind purple
Between chunks of grays and reds
Under slats of black
And shadows they throw
I look at life
And complexities I Know
Poem.....Back Away
Back away
From things today
From have to haves
From games we play
Get out if our cars
Throw away the keys
Walk to the local store
Live life with ease
Open the windows
Feel the cool breeze
Turn off the AC
Look at some trees
We really don't need
What they tell us to be
Find a good book
Turn off the TV
The darkness soon to come
And candles will throw
Beautiful shadows on the wall
A peace we shall know.
Poem....Not this Day
When the day comes
And we no longer touch
But not this Day
When a smile
No longer lights up the room
But not this Day
When your face
Is an actress in my dreams
But not this Day
When our laughter
Become a deafening silence
But Not this Day
Hold my hand
Look in my eyes
We are in this Day.
Poem....One less brick in the wall
A sheet of thousands of years
Defining our triumps and our tears
Dress for success
Drive the right car
Have the right neighbors
You will go far
Like any old sheet
Tears will appear
Doubts will creep through
The country club will disappear
Neighbors leave without a clue
The sheet that up to now
has closely defined us all
Is developing bigger tears
One less brick in the wall
A newer way of living
One less brick in the wall
Poem....Artist unshored
Blue and Green
The art machine
Spinning a mist
Soon to be seen
Purple nails
And long lashes
Walking across canvas
Leaving hot ashes
Abstraction adored
Painting colours galore
Wrapped in a passion
An artist unshored
Poem.... Endless Night
That endless night
Sure to come
Counting of joys
And not of regrets
Did I do
All I could do
To make life a smile
And prepare for that time
In her coming years
Of joyful memories
Instead of tears
I will reach for her hand
From that endless night
And hope she can feel
As I hold on tight.
